UA Theaters

United Artists Theatres, also known as UA Cinemas and UA Theaters, were a theater chain that were among the first theaters to show The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the United States. The Rocky Horror Picture Show made its official US debut on September 26, 1975 at the UA Westwood. The film remained there until when it moved to its sister theater, the UA Cinema Center, screening several times a day until March 20, 1976. With numerous US locations, often located near malls and shopping centers, United Artists Theatres began to present the film on Friday and Saturday nights during the late-1970's and early-1980's, vastly expanding the films audience and popularity.
