Cast History

RKO was founded on 2 Nov 1979 by Chris Van Parys and Lily Walker at the Lorenzo Theatre in San Lorenzo, CA, and was the second full-time cast in Northern California.

Chris had previously performed at the UC Theatre in Berkeley as Magenta (before a cast had been established there), and then performed briefly during the summer of '79 in Double Feature/Celluloid Jam at the Strand in San Francisco as a Transylvanian.

Chris intentionally modeled RKO after Double Feature/Celluloid Jam, the first cast known to have put on a full, choreographed performance during Rocky (rather than only a few scenes, the norm at the time).
