The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is a popular 1999 novel about a socially-awkward teen written by Stephen Chbosky. The story features prominent references to The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Audience Participation. In 2012, Chbosky adapted the semi-autobiographical novel for a major motion picture starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson in the principal roles. The film included scenes of the story's characters participating in a shadowcast. Chbosky has said "Books, songs, and movies are more than entertainment when we're young. They help all of us discover who we are, what we believe, and what we hope our life can be", and in the story, Rocky Horror serves that role. The Junior Chamber Of Commerce Players are featured in the film.
