Theater Open Date: 1926

Westwood Theatre was a vintage movie house that started running The Rocky Horror Picture Show as a midnight movie in May of 1977.
The Westwood was built in 1926 and refurbished in the early 1960s. The theater gained notoriety in the early '50s when the owner intentionally showed a benign film without first submitting it to the State of Ohio for approval (which was required by law back then), paving way for it becoming an Adult Film venue as well as a revival house with alternative offerings.
