Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus is a 1818 novel written by English author Mary Shelley that tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a hideous sapient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. The book was adapted for the 1931 film version starring Boris Karloff. The film spawned a sequel Bride of Frankenstein in 1935. In The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Dr. Frank-N-Furter creates a beautiful creature named Rocky Horror (A Creation).
