1997 The Rocky Horror Collection - Box Front
1997 The Rocky Horror Collection - Box Back

The 1997 release of The Rocky Horror Collection was intended to replace The Rocky Horror Picture Show 15th Anniversary Box Set when the licensing ran out on two of the included compilation CDs. It was in a 5"x5" box as opposed to the 12" x 12" format of the original. At the time of the 15th anniversary, music stores still carried a variety of formats including 12" albums or cds in long-box packaging to fit the standard in-store racks. The Rocky Horror Collection was downsized to reflect an industry change away from vinyl lps and cassette tapes to almost entirely cds.

The Rocky Horror Collection replaced Songs From The Vaults (A Collection Of Rocky Horror Rarities) and Rocky Horror International (A Collection Of Rocky Horror Tracks From Around The World) with the 2-CD Say It! The Rocky Horror Picture Show Audience Participation Album and The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Sing It! (The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Minus The Lead Vocals). The collection also included a 24 page booklet, which included most of the contents and liner notes from the 15th Anniversary set.
